Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using the WiseSplit application ("the App", "we", "our"). By downloading or using WiseSplit you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. About WiseSplit

WiseSplit is a free mobile expense-splitting application that allows you to:

• Create expense plans and assign a name to each plan
• Add friends or participants by name
• Record shared expenses and have them automatically split among participants
• View settlement summaries showing who owes whom
• Download or save expense reports to your device
• Share settlements and reports via WhatsApp or other installed apps

WiseSplit does not require an account, login, or any form of registration.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use WiseSplit. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use the App.

3. License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use WiseSplit on your personal device(s) for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App, nor may you reverse-engineer or attempt to extract its source code.

4. Your Data and Responsibility

All expense data you enter — including plan names, participant names, and amounts — is stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to this data and cannot recover it if it is lost (e.g., if you uninstall the App or reset your device).

You are solely responsible for the accuracy of the figures you enter and for any financial arrangements made between you and your friends based on the App's calculations. WiseSplit's split calculations are provided for convenience only and do not constitute financial advice.

5. Advertising

WiseSplit is supported by advertising served through Google AdMob. By using the App you consent to the display of such advertisements. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. Your interaction with advertisements is solely between you and the advertiser.

6. Sharing and Downloads

When you share a report or settlement summary via WhatsApp or another app, you do so using your device's native sharing functionality. You are responsible for the content you share and for ensuring you have the consent of any individuals named in that content before sharing it with others.

Downloaded reports are saved to your device's local storage. We are not responsible for how you store, distribute, or use downloaded files.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use WiseSplit to:

• Facilitate fraud, deception, or any illegal financial activity
• Enter false information with the intent to mislead others
• Infringe any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

WiseSplit is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
• Calculations produced by the App are accurate or suitable for your purposes
• The App will be compatible with all devices or operating system versions

You use WiseSplit at your own risk. We are not responsible for any disputes arising between you and other individuals based on the App's output.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use WiseSplit, including but not limited to loss of data, financial loss, or disputes between users. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the App (which is zero, as the App is free).

10. Third-Party Services

WiseSplit integrates with third-party services (Google AdMob, WhatsApp sharing). These services have their own terms and privacy policies, which are separate from ours. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the content or practices of those third-party services.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Your continued use of WiseSplit after any changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the applicable territory.
